Hi, I’m Stacie! I’m a teacher, author, and illustrator who loves working with young children. After teaching kindergarten and 2nd grade, I found my heart truly lives in those early years when reading begins. I’m a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) and Storyteller Academy—two communities that have supported and inspired me along my journey.
Creativity is at the heart of everything I do---for myself and the children I work with. Momo began as a quick sketch and grew into a character I completely fell in love with. Because creativity matters, each story includes a gentle “Call to Creativity” to invite children to imagine, create, and make something of their own beyond the pages of my books...
I’ve always loved making things—all kinds of things. For years, I didn’t think of myself as an artist because I couldn't draw. But, I’ve come to believe that being an artist is really about creating, experimenting, and thinking in new ways. It’s about trying, making mistakes, and figuring things out. This is something I love sharing with children—helping them see that they are artists & creators, too.
